Russia’s Emergencies Ministry on February 8 announced that a fire broke out at an oil refinery in Novoshakhtinsk in the Rostov region of the south, near the border with Ukraine.
The fire was brought under control following 2 hours.
According to Interfax news agency, the ministry received a fire notification at 10:24 am on February 8 (Moscow time). The fire has spread to an area of regarding 100 square meters.

Oil Refining Facility The above is owned by Resource LLC. According to initial information, fire occurred due to a “violation of technological process.”
Novoshakhtinsk is located at Ukraine border regarding 9km. This is the second fire in the past two days at Russian oil refineries, following February 7 at a Lukoil facility also in Novoshakhtinsk.
