The price of pellets has fallen significantly and is now stabilizing at levels below 6 euros per 15-kilo bag. It’s a good time to get some and Caroline Sury, journalist at L’Écho, explains to us in the 6/8 where to find them.
In June 2022, experts announced that their prices would exceed 10 euros before winter. In November 2022, the average price for 15 kilos of pellets indeed reached 11.35 euros, while the classic price was around 4.50 euros.
In May 2023, it fell back to 7.25 euros on average. Who says average price, says that there are still bags over 10 euros in some stores.
There is also a way to find cheaper: the platform Palette-pellets and some Colruyt offer handbags 6,49 euros for quality pellets. Another quality pellet sold by Descamps Energy sells to 5,95 euros. The price therefore fell, but it did not return to its former level. Our expert advises you to buy pellets between 5 and 6 euros.
According to Caroline Sury, the price of pellets should remain stable until autumn thanks to a large supply at resellers and stable demand. A different situation for wood logs, with a market still under pressure. From 85 euros per cubic meter in January 2022, the price rose to 145 euros in December and 138 in May 2023.
