Andrade explained, in statements to the Entre Líneas program, that before Ernesto became a storm, it left remnants in Venezuelan territory that resulted in the rains recorded yesterday in the capital city. However, he clarified that the situation in the coming days is not directly related to this phenomenon.

“Tomorrow the impact on Venezuela will be relatively low. We will probably have cloudy skies and if there is rain, it will be of medium or moderate intensity.“Andrade said.

Andrade said the storm, which is currently approaching Puerto Rico, could intensify into a hurricane moving north into the Caribbean.

The population “must protect itself” if more rain occurs

Andrade also advised that people should protect themselves in case of further rain and avoid passing through various types of areas.

He also warned that cars should not be parked under trees, as the passage of water and wind could tear, break, or even uproot the trees.
