After a month of inactivity, the procedures page of the Administrative Service for Identification, Migration and Immigration (Got) became operational once more in mid-July, and now allows reviewing the prices of the issuance of the Venezuelan travel document: the passport.

Inoperative page
The inactivity of the Saime paperwork page between June and July kept Venezuelans without access to travel documents. Many missed important trips and others were left “trapped in their own country”.
Through a statement the office admitted the inoperability of the page, but stated that it had been “the victim of a technological blockage” that prevented the provision of identity document issuance services. El Saime did not provide further details regarding the incident.
The price of the passport has increased with the increase in the petro. Until 2021, when converting to dollars, the 10-year passport was around 200 dollars, while the extension remained around 100 dollars. Already since April 2022, media such as Bloomberg had documented the increase of the passport from 10 years to $215.
