Fincimex offers discounts on payments with AIS USD and Classic USD cards in merchants in CIMEX MLC. Save up to 10% on your purchases!

Fincimex, Cimex’s Cuban financial institution, has announced discounts for payments with AIS USD and Clásica USD cards in MLC merchants of the CIMEX Corporation.

This weekend, payments with AIS USD cards will have a 5% discount at CIMEX MLC stores. The rest of the year, the discount will remain at 3%, they promoted.

AIS USD cards can be recharged from anywhere in the world through Tocopay, Fincimex’s money transfer platform.

Tocopay has also announced discounts for payments in Cuba with the Classic USD cards:

  • 5% discount in CIMEX stores, Caribe and Trimagen stores
  • 10% discount on Gaviota tourist facilities

Shipping fees

Tocopay shipping fees depend on the amount to be sent. For a shipment of 100 USD, the fee is 10.15 USD for the AIS USD card and 11.54 USD for the Classic USD card.

You can use the calculator on the Tocopay website to check the commission applied.

Classic USD card application

The application for Classic USD cards through the Tocopay website is not yet available, but will be available soon. At the moment, these cards can only be purchased at CADECA offices in Cuba.

You should know that the Cuban USD Classic Card is a prepaid card that allows you to make purchases in Cuba’s commercial network, both in retail and wholesale stores, as long as they have a point of sale (POS) terminal. You can also use it to pay for imports and fuel in the new gas stations that operate in USD.

To purchase it, you only have to pay 4 USD (or its equivalent in other currencies) and you will enjoy 5 years of validity. Please note that the balance is non-refundable if you decide to leave the country. You can only withdraw cash in Cuban pesos at CADECA offices and banks.

Complaints about pending remittances

While Fincimex continues to promote its services, some clients complain that they have pending remittances. Fincimex recommends checking Transfermóvil and waiting, but some users have been waiting for months for their money to appear.

Recharges to Cuba from American banks

Although Tocopay assures that it works from anywhere in the world, Fincimex responded to a user that “It is NOT possible to recharge AIS USD or Classic USD cards from an American bank in Panama.” Check with your bank before sending a remittance to Cuba.

According to the platform associated with the Cuban financial company, to send money through its website, the sender must have an international card (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro or UnionPay), prepaid, credit or debit, enabled for Secure Internet Payments.
