Financing of healthcare establishments: François Braun announces sharply rising hospital prices to support healthcare establishments in the face of inflation and support them in their resumption of activity

The tariffs invoiced to Social Security, following application of the coefficients, will change in 2023 by +7.06% for public hospitals, and by +6.7% for private non-profit establishments ex-DG (+5.1% for non-profit private institutions ex-OQN) and +5.4% for those in the private for-profit sector.

These sharply rising tariffs reflect an unprecedented level for the ONDAM healthcare establishments, now raised to 101.1 billion euros.

Thus, 4.6 billion euros in new financing will be devoted to hospitals in 2023. Among the strongest commitments:

  • €2.4 billion in respect of changes in institutions’ current resources, in particular to deal with the exceptional level of inflation in 2023;
  • €1 billion for the extension to a full year of the revaluation of the July 2022 index point;
  • 400 million euros for the continuation of Ségur de la santé commitments;
  • 600 million euros in funding for harmful measures for public health establishments.

The Government is thus continuing with determination its commitment to health establishments and their staff, in order to support the resumption of activity and to ensure in all territories a quality response to the health needs of the French people.
