The latest version of WhatsApp Web available, corresponding to version 2.2333.11 distributed via the beta branch, now includes the option to lock access to the chats screen with a password. We knew this feature had been in development for a while, but it’s only now available to users.
It works similarly to the mobile version: by activating the chat lock and setting a password, WhatsApp will ask for the key each time you want to access the chats screen, and it will be necessary to enter it to unlock the app. If the password is forgotten, it will be necessary to log out and log back in to the device via the phone associated with the account.
If you’re using WhatsApp Web and you can’t yet enable the lock feature through the privacy section of the app’s settings, chances are you’ll have to wait for the app update. In the next few days it should be available for all users.
