O Snapchat made the dark theme available in the app for users of free version on android. Previously, the mode was implemented in the platform application, but only those who subscribed to the version Plus was able to take advantage of the functionality on the social network.
With this new feature, you no longer need to be a Snapchat+ user to access the look “dark” in the app. The user Doubt (@imaashish_), posted an image showing the available skin options to implement in the app, including the dark version.
For those who subscribe to the paid service, the dark theme has been available since April and initially arrived as early access for this group of people. Therefore, it was natural that the feature would arrive in the free version of the app and might be used by the entire community at some point.
Anyway, the test time for the function was quite long, but it can already be applied by anyone. However, there are still some details that might make a difference in using the application, as there are reports from users regarding its dark mode not following their preferences throughout the system.
Another complaint mentions the fact that the application does not have a mode that switches between light and dark versions automatically. In other words, the change can only be made manually, through the app’s preferences. So even if it doesn’t seem like a big deal, it might annoy people who use apps that change automatically.
