Belgian midfielder Romeo Lavia has made his return to the football pitch after months of absence due to multiple injuries.
Roméo Lavia made his first Premier League appearance as a Chelsea starter on Sunday against Manchester City. The Brussels midfielder arrived at Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2023 from Southampton. His first season was disrupted by injuries. He played just 32 minutes in the league when he came on against Crystal Palace on December 27.
He spoke to the Blues website after the 0-2 defeat against the reigning champions.

“Obviously the result didn’t go our way today on the pitch, but I think the way we’re playing and where we are right now, that’s exactly where we want to be.“, Lavia told Chelsea’s official website.
“We take the good things and focus on the next game. We felt like we had a chance to get the upper hand but it wasn’t to be. They were clinical.”
“It’s about learning from it. I think there are a lot of positives to take from this game, we had a lot of chances.”

Lavia, 20, was able to play in all the pre-season matches.
