Finally a copy of ID, birth and family certificates 2024-04-05 06:07:19

The beginning is made with the copy of the Identity Card, which citizens will be able to submit digitally. Specifically, the use of a digital copy of the Identity Card of Greek citizens in transactions with public sector bodies aims to upgrade the practices applied for the entire State, as well as to create a framework for minimizing the circulation and retention of personal data, with the continuous use and keeping multiple copies of his ID. In a second phase, it is planned to abolish the issuance and presentation by citizens of marital status, birth, and tax awareness certificates.

As stated in the announcement of the Ministry of Digital Governance, “the ex officio search and abolition of the issuing of supporting documents for the processing of administrative procedures was instituted, with the aim that gradually the supporting documents recorded in the Mitos National Register of Administrative Procedures will be drawn directly and the citizen no longer needs to present them”. .

In addition, the bill puts an end to digital bureaucracy, allowing the transfer of data through the Gov.gr Wallet. Thus, instead of digital files, they will be entitled to data. In particular, the citizen through the Gov.gr Wallet will be able to consent to the use of specific personal data required to complete a procedure that he has requested, such as for example the change of energy or telecommunication provider or insurance company. While until now he has to “upload” or send the required documents himself, with the new version of Gov.gr Wallet he only has to press “I agree” in order to complete the process.

Another possibility provided by the bill passed yesterday in the Parliament is the “Gigabit Connectivity Voucher Scheme”, in order to start the action from the Information Society that will subsidize broadband services with connectivity vouchers. with the aim of increasing the penetration of ultra-high speed broadband services in the country.

In the meantime, a new digital platform is being created by the General Secretariat of Information Systems and Digital Governance called “Know Your Business – “eGov-KYB” for the verification and verification of the details of legal entities. In this way, the updating of the details of legal entities in credit institutions and financial organizations will no longer require the physical presence of their legal representatives, but the required process will be completed electronically.

It is noted that the passed bill establishes internal law measures for the full and effective implementation of Regulation 2022/2065 of the European Union, which is more widely known as the “Digital Services Act” or “Digital Services Act” (DSA). As the Minister of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou, pointed out from the floor of the Parliament, the ministry, by systematically monitoring the developments in its areas of responsibility at the European level, ensures that Greece participates and forms the framework that will govern the Internet and new technologies in the coming years years, promoting in practice the cooperation between (co)competent bodies at national level.

Digital documents of I.X. in controls

At the same time, the digital service “Audit-Car” is established. Through the “myAuto” service, which is available through the Gov.gr Wallet, not only the owners, but also the competent control authorities will have access to the vehicle information. Until now, even if the citizen had the driver’s license, the driving license, the vehicle registration certificate or the car insurance policy on his mobile phone, he had to show the documents in the event of an inspection by the authorities, while now they will be accepted in their digital form at Gov.gr Wallet.
