Here is a guitar of a completely singular aspect. This is the Natasha Bamboo Smart Guitar (NBSG), a connected guitar made of bamboo, from the Chinese company Natasha Guitar. Its shape, which comes down to the outline of an acoustic guitar, is reminiscent of Yamaha’s Silent series guitars.

The guitar itself is almost silent, with a volume of 35 dB. All the sound is produced thanks to its wireless connection with an amplifier or by plugging in headphones. The manufacturer announces an effective transmission distance of 50 meters, and a distance of 20 meters for the best possible quality. The guitar also connects wired or wirelessly to an Android smartphone or iPhone, or to a Windows or macOS computer for control via a mobile app, or check-in.

The NBSG features knobs for preamp/post-fader EQ adjustment, built-in effects and tone presets, and an onboard tuner. The mobile application also provides a metronome, a drum machine, an effects processor and other functionalities. Everything is powered by a 2000 mAh battery for an announced autonomy of 20 hours. The “wings” (the outline of the body) can be removed very easily to simplify transport, and the whole thing weighs 1.9 kilos.

Natasha Guitars has just launched a campaign Kickstarter for his NBSG Starry Sky Edition+, an all-black guitar with images of planets on the neck. It will retail for $799, but early backers can still get it for $499 for delivery scheduled for September. The manufacturer also offers a black version and a natural bamboo color version directly on its site for $499.
