In particular, the traffic from Tuesday morning (7/5) was increased, however in the last hour the problems seem to be gradually reduced. In the Athens – Corinth entry stream, most difficulties are found from the height of Corinth to Nea Peramos, where traffic jams form in sections.
However, the passage of vehicles through the Elefsina toll road is smooth without any particular delays.
The picture is relatively better on the Athens-Lamia National Highway with vehicles moving without particular delays at the Aphidna toll road and at least up to the level of Metamorphosis on Attiki Odos. Earlier in the followingnoon and for a few hours the vehicles formed queues at the Aphidna toll road.
Earlier, the biggest problems were located at the tolls of Thebes, where delays are also observed at this time.
It is reminded that until 11 pm today, a ban on the movement of trucks with a maximum permissible weight of more than 3.5 tons applies to the entrance stream. It is worth noting that according to the traffic data, from 6 am yesterday Monday until 6 am today Tuesday (7/5) a total of 112,975 cars passed through both national networks to Attica (65,756 from Athens-Corinth and 47,219 from Athens – Lamia). Additionally, from 6 am today to 12 noon, 15,985 vehicles returned to Attica via Athens-Corinth and 7,926 from Athens-Lamia.
With obstacles the return to Thessaloniki
At the same time, the return of the Easter excursions to Thessaloniki is also underway. Specifically, at the Malgari toll road, in PATHE, there is increased traffic and there are delays in the traffic of vehicles in the direction of Thessaloniki, for this reason drivers and passengers need to be patient in order to reach their homes safely. At the same time, traffic has also increased at the Analipsi toll on Egnatia Odos. However, the picture seems to be different on the Thessaloniki-Moudanion National Highway, where vehicle traffic is proceeding smoothly.
“Heart attack” in the port of Piraeus
The roads in the port of Piraeus are also in red as the ships with approximately 25,000 passengers from the routes of the Aegean islands and Crete are sailing with 100% capacity.
