The final revocation of the license of the club on Vouliagmenis Avenue was unanimously decided by the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Athens, during today’s meeting. This is the store where minors had fun last Saturday night and were taken to the hospital due to alcohol consumption.
During the discussion, the deputy mayor of Municipal Police and Public Common Spaces Thomas Georgiadis informed the Chamber that two shops are operating on Vouliagmenis Avenue, with the first permit being given in 2020 for both and that in 2022 there was a corrective permit, for the current company.
The legal representative of the business owner attended and spoke at the meeting and argued the reasons why the license should not be revoked.
Immediately after the unanimous approval of the proposal, the mayor Haris Doukas said: “It is important that we made a unanimous decision on this issue and we are sending a message. We can also join forces and send a letter to the government to legislate for the Municipal Police to be able to intervene in such cases.”

**Interview with Emily Johnson, Immigration Solicitor at Wembley Solicitors**
**Interviewer:** Thank you for joining us today, Emily. We recently saw an announcement regarding sponsor licence revocations, and your firm has detailed fees for legal services related to this. Can you explain what it means when a sponsor licence gets revoked?
**Emily Johnson:** Absolutely, and thank you for having me. When a sponsor licence is revoked, it means that an organization or individual’s permission to sponsor visa applicants in the UK has been withdrawn by the Home Office. This can happen for various reasons, including non-compliance with sponsor duties or failure to meet specific criteria.
**Interviewer:** That sounds serious. What are the implications for someone who has their licence revoked?
**Emily Johnson:** It can have significant consequences. Primarily, it means they can no longer employ foreign workers, which can affect both the organization and any employees who are directly impacted. These individuals may also face challenges in securing alternative sponsorship, which can ultimately lead to their visa being revoked.
**Interviewer:** Your firm lists fees for handling sponsor licence revocations. Can you break down what this entails?
**Emily Johnson:** Of course. We charge £500 for legal assistance with sponsor licence revocation cases. This includes reviewing the circumstances surrounding the revocation and advising clients on their options moving forward. Our goal is to provide clear guidance to help clients navigate a complex and stressful situation.
**Interviewer:** That’s quite reasonable considering the stakes. What steps should someone take if they find themselves in this situation?
**Emily Johnson:** The first step is to seek legal advice as soon as possible. Document everything related to the revocation and avoid taking any actions that could worsen the situation without guidance. We work closely with our clients to assess their circumstances and determine the best course of action.
**Interviewer:** Thank you, Emily, for shedding light on this important issue. It’s crucial for those impacted to understand their rights and the resources available to them.
**Emily Johnson:** Thank you for having me. It’s been a pleasure to discuss these important legal matters.
