With a turbulent and controversial trajectory before being acclaimed by critics and the public, Final Fantasy XIV will finally arrive on Xbox following ten years of its launch, until then restricted to Playstation and PC. Unlike most games in the franchise, it should be remembered that the game is an online multiplayer, that is, an MMORPG, which it’s free up to a certain point and then you have to pay a monthly fee — from R$ 28.99.
At the end of the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fest schedule, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer appeared to announce the news alongside game director Naoki Yoshida.
“We want to bring the Xbox community and its warriors of light together in a way that is safe, engaging and, above all, fun.” Spencer said.
Enjoyed being onstage with Yoshi-P and Kiryu-san to announce Final Fantasy XIV coming to Xbox. We’re thrilled that the Xbox community will join the Warriors of Light and we look forward to partnering closely with Square Enix on future games. pic.twitter.com/zq0ETkDFq1

Yoshida announced that the migration to Microsoft’s system was one of the biggest requests from fans. This will finally occur in the first half of 2024, arriving for Xbox Series X|S, with faster loading and 4K resolution on the most advanced console.
According to Yoshida, the Xbox version will launch in spring 2024 with an open beta around the release of patch 6.5. Progress from the open beta will carry over, so Yoshida encouraged Xbox players to sign up for the beta.
