130,084 guests, recommendation rate of 96 percent
St. Pölten (OTS) – On the occasion of the finale of this year’s exhibition at the Schallaburg, the final discussion “Let’s talk regarding it” recently took place, during which the exhibition theme “BEING A CHILD” was reflected on together with partners and experts. In this context, the Schallaburg team thanked over 130,084 guests and for a sensational recommendation rate of 96 percent.
“We touched a lot of people with the exhibition and we managed to get many more children and young people to visit the Schallaburg through the topic,” says Gabriele Langer, commercial manager of Schallaburg. New formats, particularly the conversation lab, have been well received: “The conversation lab is a really great format for asking what it takes for people of different ages to be able to talk well to each other; The participants went home with new perspectives and in many cases with an “aha” experience,” said Christl Götz-Schmerschneider, Schallaburg cultural mediation. “The content-related collaboration with partners, this year with UNICEF Austria, will continue in the future. “We should think more in advance regarding who is already dealing with the issues, what our common socio-political agenda might be, also beyond the cultural sector,” says Peter Fritz, operational management at Schallaburg.
A particular focus in the exhibition was on the rights of children. “The exhibition ‘BEING A CHILD’ is a very important contribution to bringing child poverty into focus. The goal must be that all of our children have a good chance – no matter what household they come from and what level of education their parents have,” says Christoph Jünger, Managing Director of UNICEF Austria.
The aim of the exhibition was to create awareness of children’s rights. “The exhibition is structured in a very associative way, so that everyone can go through it with their own experiences and memories. She tends to have a positive mood. But through selective interventions, such as shocking statistics on children’s experiences of violence in the family,” says curator Dominik Heher.
In 2024, 50 years of Schallaburg exhibitions will be celebrated with “RENAISSANCE then, now & here”. The exhibition “RENAISSANCE then, now & here” tells of a world in transition, of scientific exchange and humanistic ideals. And it invites you to travel back in time to the living heart of an era that forever changed our idea of individuality, art and knowledge.
