Final details for the Caribe Wave 2023 exercise in the country

Authorities of the National Risk Management and Citizen Security System held a coordination meeting to finalize details on the execution of the Caribe Wave 2023 exercise, which will be carried out simultaneously on March 23 in 10 states of the country.

The meeting was led by the Vice Ministers for Risk Management and Civil Protection, M/G Carlos Pérez Ampueda; and Prevention, Citizen Security and Peace Quadrants, G/D Endes Palencia.

The activity was attended by the Venezuelan Foundation for Seismological Research (Funvisis), VEN911, the Vice Ministry for Education, the Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Ceofanb), the Bolivarian National Police (PNB), the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inameh) and Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), as entities related to this drill, which will also be carried out internationally.

The Caribbean Wave exercise has been taking place in Venezuela without interruption since 2011, an initiative whose purpose is to validate and promote preparation efforts, protocols for action and response to tsunamis in the Caribbean and adjacent regions.
