Apple is planning an event on September 7th to launch its new iPhone and Apple Watch, according to reports Bloomberg.
Apple introduced the iPhone 13 series on September 15 last year, so this year we would see a small preview.
The report also mentions that store employees have been notified regarding the September 16 release date for new products.
However, Apple has yet to make an official announcement on the date of the first of its many planned events in fall 2022. The report also warns that the event date of September 7 is not fixed and might change.
The iPhone 14 will be the star of the event
Details regarding the new iPhone 14 have been leaked several times in recent months. Unlike the iPhone 12 and 13 series, this year there will be no “mini” model. In its place, Apple would have added a larger “Max” model, outside the Pro family, with a 6.7-inch screen.
Design-wise, the iPhone 14 and its Max variant will borrow their look from the iPhone 13 series. However, the iPhone 14 Pro models are rumored to ditch the notch in favor of a pair of holes in the display to house the Face ID sensors and the selfie camera.
The photography section is where things get really interesting. Apple is believed to be eyeing a 48MP main camera for the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, along with a pair of 12MP cameras for the ultra-wide and telephoto features.
Apparently, Apple is reserving the procesador A16 Bionic new generation for Pro models only. Non-Pro models will still use the A15 chip that we last saw in the iPhone 13 series.
Three new Apple Watch models
As for the Apple Watch, the company plans three new models. The basic model Apple Watch Series 8 will come in two sizes, and will be accompanied by the Apple Watch SE new generation and robust model with a larger screen aimed at extreme sports enthusiasts.
The new watches are expected to incorporate a new temperature sensor similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5. However, the sensor will not display temperature readings as numerical values. Instead, it will just watch for fluctuations and alert users if they have a fever.
Bloomberg has previously reported on new women’s health features, more fitness analysis options, and medication management tied to the latest version of WatchOS.
It is believed that sleep apnea screening will also arrive with the update, along with a new system of detection of traffic accidents.
