A NUMBER of public figures ranging from filmmakers to comedians took part in a demonstration in front of the DPR/MPR RI building, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (8/22/2024). The demonstration was carried out ahead of the ratification of the revised Pilkada Law which was carried out a day after the Constitutional Court issued a ruling regarding the nomination of regional heads.
Some of the filmmakers seen at the demonstration included director Joko Anwar, Gina S. Noer, Yosep Anggi Noen, Salman Aristo, producer Gita Fara, and actor and celebrity Keanu.
In addition to filmmakers, Indonesian comedians were also seen attending the action. Among them were Adjis Doaibu, Abdur Arsyad, Arie Kriting, Abdel Achrian, Arif Brata, and Muhadkly Acho.

The filmmakers and comedians joined various elements of community groups who had filled the location since 09:00 WIB.
The day before, many public figures uploaded a picture of a garuda with a blue background with the words Emergency Warning. This was intended to convey opinions about the current situation. (M-1)
