With, among others, Susi Stach, Mariam Hage, Karl Fischer and Gerhard Liebmann

Vienna (OTS) As if Susi Stach didn’t already have enough to do with “The Cases of Gerti B.” (AT), she now has to deal with a new boss! As the eponymous Gerti Bruckner, Stach will be in front of the camera for six episodes of the series spin-off to the popular ORF crime comedy “Der Fall der Gerti B.” until mid-August 2023. The hardened police officer does not have it easy: she is denied the deserved promotion to head of department – instead, generations collide when a much younger and extremely correct policewoman (Mariam Hage), digital native of course, is put in front of her. Because apart from the fact that the two have to make their way in a male-dominated professional field, they don’t have too much in common. A visit to the set in the presence of Susi Stach, Mariam Hage, Karl Fischer, Gerhard Liebmann, director and screenwriter Sascha Bigler and producer Tommy Pridnig on Thursday, July 27th in Simmering provided a first look behind the scenes.

Johannes Silberschneider, Lukas Watzl, Anton Noori, Peter Raffalt and David Miesmer also appear in other roles in the six 45-minute films located in Floridsdorf, which look into the lives of the main characters and each cover one main case as well as a main case told regarding all episodes , Valentin Postlmayr, Harald Windisch and Doris Hindinger. Sascha Bigler, who is also responsible for the scripts together with Marcel Kawentel and Timo Lombeck, is directing once more. “The Cases of Gerti B.” – a co-production of ORF and Lotus Filmproduktion with the support of FISA+, Fernsehfonds Austria and Filmfonds Wien – should go on air in ORF 1 in 2024.

Susi Stach: “I’m totally in love with Floridsdorf”

“Gerti has served all her life so that one day she will become boss herself. Shortly before the time comes, she gets a very young boss,” says Susi Stach regarding her role. She also tells what she particularly appreciates regarding “The Cases of Gerti B.”:
“In the series you see cases where you can imagine that they correspond to the real everyday life of a police officer. There’s been a death once or twice, but there’s no brutality involved.” She is enthusiastic regarding the location of the series: “I’m totally in love with Floridsdorf, it’s great there!”

Mariam Hage: “The screenplay has an immense Viennese charm”

Mariam Hage describes her role as “a high-flyer, Major Heidi Mai. A young detective who joins Gerti’s team and takes over the long-awaited head position, which of course doesn’t make her very happy.” She has this to say regarding the project:
“The screenplay has an immense Viennese charm that made my heart sing.” She feels at home at the location of the series: “I also grew up in a traditional Viennese district, so I feel very at home in Floridsdorf. I’ve shot at the Schlingermarkt before, so it was a bit like coming home.”
