Filmic Pro: version 7 with a new interface and also a “Legacy” version

Filmic Pro, one of the benchmarks for video recording on iOS, passes the seventh. Several big changes have been made, starting with a brand new interface, optimized for iPhone and iPad in both landscape and portrait.

A new quick action mode (QAM, for Quick Action Modal) gives direct access to the basic functions of the app without having to drown in the settings or to engage in a gymnastic of complicated gestures. We can thus switch from one to the other of the three focus and exposure modes. There is the same for adjusting the gain correction and adjusting the microphone input.

The app includes a function button Fn customizable: you can assign it a specific function, such as playing the last recorded video. The control sliders have also been redesigned to make it easier to adjust the various settings. During recording, information is displayed in real time in the top bar: temperature, ISO, available recording time, etc.

In summary, a lot of substantive work to improve the lives of users who, if they want to be able to use all the functions of the app, will have to pay a subscription of €3.49 per week, €14.99 per month or €59.99 for a perpetual license.

In the process, Filmic also offers une version « Legacy » of its application for users who paid for v6 before August 25, knowing that it switched to the wonderful world of subscription following this date (it cost €14.99 before, without subscription). This build will continue to be updated with bug fixes, but no new features.
