OThe country is in shock following the train accident in Disha. Rescue operations are still underway in the accident that left 238 dead and over 900 injured. People from different parts of the country expressed shock and offered help. It also includes those from the film industry.

Actor Chiranjeevi’s appeal to his fans in the vicinity of the danger zone is noteworthy. He requested blood to be brought to those who need it and to donate blood. Chiranjeevi tweeted that he was shocked by the tragic Coromandel Express accident and death in Orissa. He understands that there is an urgent need for blood units to save lives. He tweeted that he is requesting all his fans and nearby Sumanas to provide all possible help to donate blood.

The accident happened around 7 pm on Friday. Super Fast Express (12864), Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express (12841) and goods train were involved in the accident from Yeswantpur to Howrah. The train which was going from Yeswantpur to Howrah was the first to derail and overturn. The accident became serious when the Coromandel Express coming on the adjacent track hit these coaches. A freight train also hit it.

The chief secretary of Odisha stated that four ambulance units, 15 fire brigade units, 30 doctors, 200 policemen and 60 ambulances are participating in the rescue operation.
