With a hard-fought 4:6,7:6(5),6:2 win over the Italian Andrea Vavassori following 2:30 hours, Filip Misolic was the last player to make it into qualification for the Vienna City Hall tournament on Sunday evening.

The 22-year-old Styrian, who sensationally made it to the Kitzbühel final last year, is the third Austrian in the main competition of Austria’s largest tennis tournament, alongside Sebastian Ofner and Dominic Thiem, who received wild cards.

“I feel good”

“The relief is very great. I’m happy, it was a difficult match,” said a happy Misolic following his important victory. He reached the round of 16 in Stockholm this week and showed good form. “I played four good matches in Stockholm. I’m feeling good at the moment.”
