We suspect that many of you have already seen Filip Hammars and Fredrik Wikingssons hit documentary The last journeyconsidering how long it has clung to the Swedish bio top. It is now announced that the film has been honored as Sweden’s Oscar entry for 2024.
The last trip is about Hammar’s father Lars, who has lost his spark of life after retirement, and in order to bring it back to life, Filip and Fredrik travel to France. It is Lars’s most beloved place on earth, and the idea is that maybe it will start the spark of life again.
Which five films will finally fight in the category of best international film will only be revealed in January, but of course we hope that things go well for the duo.
