Al-Ahly club completed the contract with Ghanaian striker Aziz Yaqobu to join the ranks of the red team during the current winter transfer period.

A source close to Aziz Yacoubou said لـFilGoal.com: “The deal has already been completed, and the player will join Al-Ahly.”

He added, “Some mediators offered him to join one of the Egyptian teams during the past hours, in exchange for more money, but he refused out of respect for his agreement with Al-Ahly.”

And he continued, “The deal was completed at more than $2 million, and the player is regular in training following the next Al-Ahly match.”

He concluded his remarks, “Aziz Yaqoubou signed with Al-Ahly for 4 and a half seasons.”

Abdel Aziz Yaqobu (24) is a Ghanaian striker who has impressed in the Portuguese league this season.

Aziz scored 6 goals in 14 games in the Portuguese League since the start of the season, in addition to assisting 3 other goals.

In all, Aziz has scored 8 goals this season, including both goals in the Portuguese League Cup.

Aziz caught the eye last August when he scored twice once morest the giants, Porto, during his team’s sudden victory, with three goals to one.

Aziz began his career at the Ghanaian Red Bull Academy, then played for the little-known Charity Stars team, and from there he went to Portugal in 2016 and joined the ranks of Vetsila.

Later, Aziz passed through the clubs Vitoria Guimaraes and Estoril, then moved on loan to Rio Ave last season and scored 11 league goals with him, to finally move to his ranks at the beginning of the current season in a deal worth one million euros.

Aziz does not have any international appearances with the Ghana national team until now.
