FilGoal | News | Mbappe: The President of France asked me to stay in Paris and told me how important it is for the country

Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe revealed the conversation he had with French President Emmanuel Macron during the renewal of his contract with his team.

Mbappe conducted a lengthy interview with the American newspaper The New York Times, which will be published successively in several parts.

When Mbappe asked regarding the dream of playing with Real Madrid, he replied: “You never know the future, I’ve never been there in this club before, but it looks like your home or something.”

“I never imagined that I would sit down with Emmanuel Macron, the president of France, to talk regarding my future, this is crazy, and he said to me,” he added (I want you to stay in Paris, you are very important to the country, you have time to leave and you can stay here longer).

And he continued, “I told him, of course, that when the president of your country tells you that, it is an important matter.”

Mbappe renewed his contract with Paris Saint-Germain a few months ago until the 2025 season, following Real Madrid’s interest in him.
