Mohamed El-Shennawy said in the press conference before the meeting: “In the last three matches in the league, we faced difficult circumstances, and we talked to each other and said that the African Championship is important. The semi-final matches are difficult, but our goal is the title.”
“We all talked together and sat a lot. We closed ourselves off six days ago with an open camp, and then today with a closed camp,” he added.
Al-Shennawy continued, “The past period is not the best thing, but the next is better. If we win all the matches in the league, we will be the first. The arguments are not presented, but our goal is all the tournaments we seek, as happened in the Club World Cup in the absence of influential players.”
Al-Ahly’s captain continued, “We will live up to the responsibility. Yes, we suffer from important absences on the list, but any player who will be present will be able to perform, and we faced more difficult conditions in the Club World Cup. That is, 11 players are able to perform strongly in Al-Ahly.”
Al-Ahly had announced the list of the match, and Amr Al-Sulayya and Mohamed Abdel Moneim were absent from it, while Aliou Diang and Ahmed Abdel Qader would return. (See Al-Ahly’s list)
