The ORF mourns the loss of Peter Nidetzky. The well-known presenter of the ORF program “Aktenzeichen XY … unsolved” has died at the age of 84. He was the father-in-law of Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer.

Peter Nidetzky was born on June 5, 1940 in Vienna. He was responsible for a large number of radio and TV reports on politics, culture, society and sport. He became known to a large circle of television viewers in 1969 when he commented on the ORF broadcast of the first moon landing.

In addition, Peter Nidetzky held a number of important positions at ORF in his long career, from managing TV program planning to managing the Austrian editorial team of the TV classic “Aktenzeichen XY – unsolved…” to ORF TELETEXT, whose He was boss until his retirement in 2000.

Nidetzky was an equestrian sports fan
