Figure skater Roman Kostomarov spent another day in intensive care without deterioration
The condition of the 45-year-old skater has not changed over the past day. “The temperature is average, the heart is normal,” said a source familiar with the situation.

Olympic champion in figure skating Roman Kostomarov, who was admitted to intensive care with pneumonia, is conscious, his condition is stable, reported “Match TV” and TASS with reference to sources.
“Over the past day, Roman’s condition has not changed. He is conscious, communicates with relatives. The main thing is that there is no deterioration, ”a source familiar with the situation told Match TV.
Companion TASS confirmed that Kostomarov’s condition is stable, “the temperature is average, the heart is normal.”
Honored Coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova stated “Match TV”, which does not expect a quick recovery of the 45-year-old skater. “We pray for him, we light candles, we can’t do more,” the coach added.
Kostomarov was hospitalized January 10 with unilateral pneumonia. In “Kommunarka” figure skater for two weeks hooked up to the ECMO machine (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, used in case of acute severe respiratory failure).
January 25 became knownthat Kostomarov still needs artificial lung ventilation (ALV).
Kostomarov, along with Tatyana Navka, won gold at the 2006 Olympics in ice dancing, and also won two world championships and three European championships.
