THE 76 Indonesian Downhill 2024 bicycle racing event will take place at Ternadi Bike Park, Kudus, Central Java, on 19-20 October. Ternadi Bike Park is the location for the second round this year after the inaugural series at Klangon Bike Park, Yogyakarta early last August.
Agnes C Wuisan from 76 Rider as the organizer said that this year Ternadi Bike Park was deliberately chosen as the location for the second round of the total of three scheduled series.
Having a length of 2.3 kilometers and a width of 1.5 meters, Ternadi Bike Park is registered with the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) with level C1. This means that the track at the foot of Mount Muria has the most extreme obstacles, both in terms of elevation and track characteristics. With level C1, whoever wins at Ternadi Bike Park will get 40 points in the UCI ranking. Then second and third place get 30 and 20 points respectively.

“Ternadi Bike Park has never been absent from the 76 Indonesian Downhill Championship. This is one of the best and international downhill tracks so it can provide the maximum challenge and level of competition for the downhillers who will compete. “In this second round, the competition is getting tougher and we are optimistic that every downhiller will try their best to win,” explained Agnes, Saturday (12/10).
Ahead of the race, a row of the best downhillers are ready to take action to win the championship title, especially in the main Men Elite class. So far Andy Prayoga still tops the standing points in the main Men Elite class with a total of 260 points.
Men’s Doubles Arrozak and M Abdul Hakim are in second and third positions. Both of them collected 200 points. With a situation like this, competition at Ternadi Bike Park is sure to be fierce and hot. The top three names will certainly fight it out to secure maximum points and take the top of the standings.

This year 76 Indonesian Downhill competed in a total of 10 classes. Apart from the main classes Men Elite and Women Elite, other classes are Men Junior, Men Sport A, Men Sport B, Men Youth, Women Youth, Men Master A, Men Master B, and Men Master C. With the 10 classes being contested it is hoped that it can accommodate more and more downhillers are participating.
As race time approaches, Abdul is optimistic that he can climb the podium and gain maximum points. This athlete, who was once among the 100 best in the world in the Downhill Men Elite category, said that the second series at Ternadi Bike Park was an advantage because he was quite familiar with the track.
“The second series in Ternadi will definitely be an advantage for me, because I will have more training time. “I tried to prepare myself well, starting from physical, training on the track, and also setting up the bike,” said Abdul.
However, he still remembers that the competition at the 76 Indonesian Downhill is very dynamic. The proof is that last year’s champion in the Men Elite class, Rendy Varera Sanjaya, is currently still in fifth place in the standings. Likewise, another favorite, regular champion rider, Khoiful Mukhib, had to put in extra effort to climb up from seventh in the standings. (Z-6)
