“FIFA” shocks Zamalek hours after it qualified for the Confederation Cup final

Egypt – The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced the suspension of Zamalek Club’s registration of new players to its ranks for a period of three periods, starting from April 24 until the fine of its former Moroccan striker, Khaled Boutayeb, is paid.

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has included the name of Zamalek Club in the list of clubs subject to sanctions to suspend registration, as FIFA updates the portal for club issues on Monday of every week.

FIFA announced this decision hours after Zamalek defeated Ghana’s Dreams 3-0 and reached the final of the African Confederation Cup.

Zamalek had previously announced the suspension of its registration due to Khaled Boutayeb’s fine, resulting from the former Moroccan international player’s complaint to the club since 2020 due to his failure to receive his dues estimated at approximately 2.5 million euros.

Boutayeb played for Zamalek between January 2019 and the same month of 2020.

The news of the suspension of registration shocked the Zamalek administration, after a period of stability experienced by the white team, whose results improved in the Premier League and reached the final of the African Confederation Cup.

Zamalek will play in the Confederation Cup final against Morocco’s RS Berkane, noting that the Egyptian team had won the competition title in the 2018-2019 season after its victory in the final over RS Berkane in particular.
