Fifa President Infantino moves to Zug and saves taxes

Previously unnoticed by the public, Infantino moved his residence and tax domicile to the low-tax Zug, as research by the “SonntagsZeitung” shows. Documents available to this newspaper show that he transferred his papers from the canton of Zurich to Zug in June. His new home is an anonymous gray block of flats in a quiet block of flats with a view of Lake Zug. The world football association Fifa confirms the new place of residence on request, without commenting on the circumstance further.

The Zug finance director Heinz Tännler (SVP) should be particularly happy regarding the prominent move. According to the “Tages-Anzeiger”, Infantino recently received remuneration of an estimated CHF 4 million. If this information is correct, the canton of Zug should look forward to 228,000 francs in additional tax revenue, and the municipality will receive 153,000 francs. According to research by “Sunday Newspaper” this is around half the amount that would have been due in Zurich.
