FIFA postpones Ukraine’s World Cup qualifier against Scotland

The International Football Association (FIFA) announced in a statement the postponement of the Ukraine World Cup qualifiers match against Scotland, which was scheduled for March 24, to be held in June.

The winner of this match in Hampden Park in Glasgow is scheduled to face either Austria or Wales for a place in the World Cup finals in Qatar in November.

The Ukrainian Football Association had asked FIFA to postpone the match after the Russian invasion of his country.

A FIFA statement said:

“Following consultations with UEFA and the four associations involved in the European qualifications, it was unanimously agreed to postpone the match in the spirit of solidarity. The Scotland-Ukraine match will now be postponed to June and the subsequent match between the winners of the Scotland/Ukraine and Wales/Austria matches will now be postponed. “.

The Wales-Austria match will be held on time (March 24)… to ease the pressure on the June window schedule.”
