All India Football Federation (AIFF) has been suspended by FIFA for violating FIFA rules. According to this, India will miss hosting the Under-17 Women’s World Cup. The decision was taken unanimously by the FIFA Council. The Indian national football team will not be able to play any international matches until the ban is lifted. Indian clubs will also not be able to participate in AFC Women’s Club Championship, AFC Cup and AFC Champions League competitions. FIFA, the international football organization, had earlier come out once morest the Supreme Court’s move to dissolve the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and hold elections immediately.
FIFA had warned India that it is up to them to approve the national federations and if other elements intervene in it, they will face a ban. The Supreme Court has ruled that the elections will be held on 28th of this month.
