In November and December, when the World Cup takes place, entry to Qatar will be restricted to ticket and fan ID holders. Qatar Tourism Chief Operating Officer Berhold Trengle made the remarks in an interview with The Sun in England. “It does not apply to Qataris,” he said.

The Qatar Tourism official’s response came following bookings for the second round of the World Cup began on Tuesday. Second round tickets will be issued by random draw. Berhold Trenkell said that only those with a fan ID would have access to Qatar during the World Cup and those who did not might not travel to the country. Qatar expects more than 1.2 million spectators at the World Cup, which runs from November 21 to December 18.
Holders of World Cup tickets must also apply for the Haya Card. People from outside Qatar must book accommodation through the Accommodation Portal to apply for a Fan ID. A Qatar Tourism spokesman has hinted that without booking a ticket, the planet might not have just arrived in Qatar to be part of the World Cup.
