France’s men’s soccer team wore the women’s national team shirts during the warm-up before facing Greece in the 2024 European Football Championship qualifiers, Monday.
France’s men resorted to this with the aim of supporting the women’s team, which begins, on Tuesday, preparing for the World Cup.
“As the women’s national team begins their preparations for the World Cup tomorrow, the French men’s national team will wear their shirts during the warm-up once morest Greece, in support of them,” the French Football Federation said in a statement.
The Women’s World Cup kicks off in Australia and New Zealand on July 20.
The men’s team lost the final of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, on penalties, once morest Argentina, noting that it won the previous championship title in Russia 2018.
