This Wednesday evening, firefighters in the Liège area were called to intervene in Oupeye because a 14-year-old teenager fell into a pond while playing around with friends.
Around 6 p.m., the emergency services were called following an incident which took place on rue du Tiège in Oupeye. The pond in which the young man fell contained a lot of silt.
Action in progress
The police of the Basse-Meuse area intervened on the spot. The firefighters arrived first on the scene. They held the person down until the divers arrived on site to get them out of this mess.
The victim was resuscitated and taken by the smur to the hospital of the Citadel. The adolescent’s vital prognosis is engaged. He was taken care of by the medical team and evacuated to the hospital.
A pumper from the Hermalle advanced post, a diving vehicle and an officer vehicle went to the scene.
The Liège public prosecutor’s office was notified of the accident. The young people who were there at the time of the events will be interviewed by the police. The accidental track is preferred. The investigation is ongoing.
