Sudanese government forces and the paramilitary organization Rapid Support Force (RSF) continued fierce fighting for the sixth day, with the death toll exceeding 300.

According to AFP on the 20th (local time), the World Health Organization (WHO) counted the cumulative death toll to 330 and the number of injured to more than 3,200 since the conflict began on the 15th. “At least nine children are known to have died,” UNICEF said.

The Sudanese government forces and the RSF announced that they had agreed to a third ceasefire the previous day under pressure from the international community, but the fighting continues even following that. The two sides are fighting fiercely around the Ministry of Defense building in Khartoum, where the military headquarters is located, and near Khartoum International Airport.

In downtown Khartoum, many hospitals were caught in the fighting. As a result, up to 70% of hospitals in Khartoum and surrounding areas have been closed, and there are fears that the death toll may be much higher than the tally, as many injured cannot reach hospitals.
