In a press release published this Monday evening, the TFC denounced “racist insults” of which its U19 team was allegedly the victim this Friday, during a Championship match at Gazélec Ajaccio. On its website, the TFC also speaks of “threats, verbal and physical intimidation made from the stands of the Ange Casanova Stadium”.

“The Toulouse Football Club expresses its indignation at the unacceptable acts which took place during this meeting. This unworthy behavior has no place on football fields, or elsewhere in general. We cannot under any circumstances tolerate such behavior going unpunished, and we reserve the right to initiate legal proceedings in order to shed light on these sad events. We reaffirm our unwavering commitment to fighting all forms of discrimination, whether on or off the football field,” the statement also read.

The Corsican club was quick to react, via a long press release published on its social networks. Initially, Gazélec sought to contradict the Toulouse version. “It is with dismay and amazement that the GFCA reads the TFC press release which contains serious and unfounded accusations. During the match, all members of the GFCA, players, managers and supporters, were shocked by the disrespectful and violent attitude of the TFC representatives. »

Before recalling that “racism has no place in football”, the Ajaccians showed their intention to file a complaint. “None of the accusations made by TFC in its press release were reported by officials following the match. This is why a complaint for slander will be filed as soon as possible. The club’s leaders are in possession of videos of the incidents following the exclusion. They will not hesitate to make them available to the disciplinary committee in order to clarify this matter and reestablish the truth. »
