Guwahati: Assam police officer Junmoni Rabha has been arrested in connection with a case of cheating on her fianc. The arrest was made in a corruption case related to the fianc. Rabha, who was a sub-inspector in Nagaon district of Assam, had been interrogated for the past two days. They were remanded in judicial custody for 14 days.
It is alleged that the fianc introduced Pogag to Rabha to fulfill the financial deals he had signed with the contractors and thereby deceived the contractors after gaining their trust. Rabha charged Pogag with cheating after promising to get contracts and jobs for the people. He was arrested by the police and lodged in Majuli Jail.
Allegations were also leveled against Raba, popularly known as ‘Lady Singam’ and ‘Dabangg Police’. Rabha was lodged in the Majuli District Jail. Rabha was engaged to Pogagu in October 2021. The couple was scheduled to get married in November 2022. Earlier, Rabha’s phone conversation with Bihpuria MLA Amiya Kumar Bhuyan was leaked.
