Let’s get started: This Saturday (March 2, 2024) the Sports Car World Championship (FIA WEC) will mark the start of the 2024 season. The field is strong. There are 19 hypercars from nine manufacturers competing in the top category. There is also the new LMGT3 class with 18 cars from nine brands. Overall, the race naturally promises a lot of excitement.
The 1,812 kilometers from Qatar start at 9:00 a.m. Central European Time. The race will most likely not be the full 1,812 kilometers as it is capped at a maximum of ten hours. The end of the race is expected around 7:00 p.m. Of course you can watch the racing action once more on your home screen. These are options for this (all information is of course without guarantee):
TV
The station SPORT1 starts broadcasting at 11:00 a.m. and initially stays on the air until 1:30 p.m. Then we switch once more to Qatar from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. So you can see the final phase there. The pay TV channel Eurosport2 shows more action. The race will be broadcast there from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 5:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Stream
The race can also be seen in the live stream – but for a fee. The race will also be shown on Discovery+ between 8:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. The FIA WEC also has its own app in which various packages can be booked. The app works in many (but selected) countries. The app provides commentary in English or French. There are also some onboard cameras from the vehicles. So nothing really stands in the way of a motorsport Saturday.
