He gave a Hitler salute.

Now he has apologized.
The Russian junior kart driver Artjom Severyuchin (15) showed the Hitler salute at an award ceremony during the Italian anthem. The world association Fia therefore launched an investigation into the “unacceptable behavior” of the minor on Monday. His racing team separated from him.
Now the teenager shows remorse. On Twitter he shares a tearful apology. “I want to apologize to everyone for what happened yesterday. I don’t support the Nazis, they are responsible for one of humanity’s worst crimes.” He stated that he would accept any punishment, but stressed that the gesture was not intended as a Nazi salute at all.
Action during the national anthem
The Fia announced that it would “quickly communicate further steps” that “will be decided in this case”. Severyuchin, who won the race in his category, is allowed to take part in the Fia competitions despite his Russian nationality and the associated sanctions currently in force because he is currently competing under the Italian flag. During the action, the Italian national anthem played in the background, the Russian was at the top of the podium.
The Italian Automobile Club condemned Severukhin’s behavior and announced that it would discuss further steps at an extraordinary meeting on Tuesday.
