The National Institute of Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data (NACI) ordered the Office of the Attorney-General of the Republic (FGR) provide a public version of the documents that U.S. authorities handed over to the U.S. government. On the above, a person requested from the FGR a public version of the file provided by the United States, to which the Prosecutor responded that following a search “it did not find information related to the request, because it has not obtained the requested documentation.”
The case was analyzed by the presentation of the commissioner Norma Juliet of the Venegas River, which determined that the response of the FGR, which declared that it did not exist, was inadmissible because “there is no certainty regarding the search criteria used by the aforementioned administrative unit to search for the information.”
The commissioner recalled that in 2018 the INAI plenary decided to make available to the population the public version preliminary investigation into the enforced disappearance of 43 students
The INAI will continue on the same route and in the same criteria trying to continue delivering such important information on this emblematic case for Mexicans,” said the Commissioner of The Venegas River.
The full of the INA revoked the response of the FGR and instructed it to turn the request to all the competent administrative units to meet the requirement of the appellant in order to perform a new search to locate and deliver the requested information.
