FGF elective congress: The G47 collective speaks out after its boycott

The elective congress of the Guinean football federation did not deliver a verdict this Saturday because of the withdrawal of the G47 collective. After the assembly was postponed for 24 hours, the collective wanted to express its position.

This Saturday was to mark the start of a new era for Guinean football through the election of a new executive committee at the head of the Guinean football federation. Ultimately, none of that.

Frustrated after the invalidation of the candidacy of General Mathurin Bangoura and his list 72 hours before the elective congress of the FGF, the G47 collective, which represents the majority of statutory members, decided to boycott the elective congress of the executive committee of the Guinean federation which took place today at the Riviera Royal hotel in Kaloum.

“We statutory members gathered within the G47 group currently made up of 42 statutory members, all voters at the general assemblies of FÉGUIFOOT, draw the attention of the authorities of our country and ask CONOR to immediately revoke the members of the commission electoral appeal for partiality and notorious incompetence to read and interpret the texts of feguifoot, CAF and FIFA…” explained the G47 group, meeting in another hotel reception in the capital.

“Everything suggests that the Electoral Appeals Commission took a position in favor of certain opposing parties, we were in no way opposed to a free, transparent and inclusive election as provided for by the statutes of feguifoot. To avoid arbitrariness, we are requesting, on behalf of the majority of Guinean football players, the organization of a new extraordinary general assembly of the new members of the electoral appeal commission in order to achieve a fair and equitable process with stakeholder participation. Faced with the irregularities and shortcomings that characterized this process, we challenge the electoral commission of appeal because we cannot participate with an entity in which we do not trust. For serenity and cohesion between the players in Guinean football, we are asking for the organization of an inclusive election…”, launches the G47 regarding the rest of the process.
