Against the will of the Normalization Committee of the Guinean Football Federation to postpone the elective congress of the body, Bea Diallo, raised his voice. The Minister of Sports regrets the actions of CONOR and alerts FIFA.
Although previously a good ally, the Ministry of Sports and the Normalization Committee of the Guinean Football Federation no longer use the same verb. The last acts carried out by the second without the approval of the first, would be the cause of the divorce between the two parties. But above all, Béa Diallo, head of the Ministry of Sports, does not wish to leave any margin to CONOR in terms of their mandate, closely linked to the election of a new Executive Committee scheduled for November 25, 2023.
As indicated in this letter from the former boxer, addressed to the FIFA Africa representative.
“The organization of the congress allowing the establishment of the Executive Committee of the Guinean football federation on November 25, 2023 is a final step that no one needs to recall. I still take this opportunity to draw your attention to the fact that for the Guinean Government, nothing will hinder the organization of the Congress on November 25 and that November 30 will mark the end of CONOR in the Republic of Guinea, whatever the circumstances,” we can read.
In the same letter, he returned to what he criticizes the federal team for.
“Finally, we note, not without regret, the attitude of the members of CONOR recently, particularly from several angles of their approaches. For example, we were surprised to learn of the visit to the hotel chartered to the Guinea national team for the next CAN in Ivory Coast carried out by CONOR without informing my Department, let alone associating it with the said visit. Better, during the said visit, the principals of CONOR would have rejected the hotel chosen by CAF without informing or consulting the Ministry of Youth and Sports,” explains Bea.
Further, the Minister of Sports questioned the recent contractual commitments to which his team was not associated.
“In view of the above, while reiterating the desire of the Guinean Government to emerge from the crisis which is shaking the Guinean Football Federation on November 25, 2023, we consider that any commitment, whether contractual or otherwise, made by CONOR without consultation and prior written agreement from the Guinean Ministry of Sports cannot be accepted by my Department. As a result, it only involves members of CONOR who will answer for their actions wherever necessary,” warns Bea Diallo.
