Fewer Applications for Compensation After COVID-19 Vaccination
Applications for compensation due to possible damage following Covid-19 vaccination have significantly decreased. By the beginning of November, 67 applications were submitted. This figure includes potential vaccine damage following vaccination against the COVID-19 pathogen Sars-CoV-2. An additional five applications were filed in relation to damage from other vaccinations such as rabies, typhoid, and tetanus.
A Downward Trend in Recent Years
Last year saw a total of 260 applications for compensation after vaccination. Of these, 256 were related to COVID-19 vaccinations.
In 2022, the numbers climbed even higher, totaling 280 applications, with 275 related to COVID-19 vaccination.
First Step: Consult Your General Practitioner
Family doctors are the first point of contact for individuals who suspect they may have experienced vaccine-induced harm. Following initial diagnosis by a family doctor, post-COVID outpatient clinics are available as a resource for managing complex health consequences potentially related to vaccination. These clinics aid in navigating complex cases by coordinating interdisciplinary care alongside a network of specialists.
To be eligible for an appointment at any of the five post-COVID-19 outpatient clinics in Rhineland-Palatinate, referral from and initial diagnosis by a family doctor is required.
Key Requirements for Recognition of Vaccine Damage
According to the ministry, three crucial elements are required for a claim of vaccine damage to be recognised.
First, it must be proven that the vaccination itself was a harmful process. Secondly, the crippled health be considered the primary damage. Finally, this impaired health must be confirmed as a consequence of the vaccine. Only after the causal link between these three elements has been firmly established will vaccine damage be recognized.
