FETIN 2024: Inatel promotes technology fair to transform ideas into collective innovations
FETIN, Technological Fair of National Institute of Telecommunications – Inatelreaches another edition with the theme “The spectacle of technology happens here”, encouraging the union of efforts to transform ideas into reality. The FETIN 2024 event, which will take place from September 25 to 27, on the institution’s campus, in Santa Rita do Sapucaí, Minas Gerais, will be a meeting point between creativity and innovation, for students and visitors to explore the frontiers of technology.

With over 40 years of history, the fair stands out as a space for integration between academia, the market and the community. In addition to the exhibition of projects developed by Inatel students, which address technological solutions to real problems in Brazil, FETIN will also promote cultural and training activities for high school students from various regions.
Visitors from schools in Minas Gerais
More than four thousand visitors from schools in Minas Gerais are expected to visit, and they will be able to learn about the innovations, participate in workshops and games. In addition, there will be a gastronomic fair called Sabores do Vale and Conexão Cultural, which will feature musical performances by regional artists, creating an environment of interaction between technology and art.

“Fetin is one of the main national events for engineering students, which transforms society’s problems into solutions using technology. In addition, it is a space for sharing ideas and learning. And many of the projects are transformed into startups, contributing to the country’s economic development,” says Fetin coordinator, Professor Filipe Bueno.
More than 80 projects were selected for the fair, developed throughout the year with the guidance of teachers and mentoring from professionals from different areas.

In addition to the awards that consider the level of development and the length of the courses, there are also innovation awards, which receive investments to continue their projects and, eventually, transform them into companies — something that has been a recurring theme throughout FETIN’s four decades. This year, a new category was created: soft skills, with awards for the most engaged students during the preparatory events throughout the year.
Fetin 2024 also includes the participation of international students from countries such as Bolivia, Ecuador, Paraguay and Germany. During Fetin, 12 projects developed by international students will be presented, promoting cultural and academic integration.

About Inatel
The National Telecommunications Institute – Inatel, founded in 1965, is a reference center for teaching, research and technology development. Located in Santa Rita do Sapucaí, in the south of Minas Gerais, it was the first higher education institution for Telecommunications Engineering in Brazil and currently offers seven undergraduate courses, as well as lato sensu postgraduate courses, distance learning courses and Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Telecommunications.
