Festival – opera success before the grand opening concert at Esterhazy Palace

“Come every day!” With these words, the artistic director Julian Rachlin invited to a truly dense program at the prelude to the HERBSTGOLD Festival in Esterházy Castle in Eisenstadt: From September 15th to 25th, world stars such as Sir András Schiff and Juan Diego will meet Flórez or John Malkovich to the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, the Janoska Ensemble and many more.

The prelude on Sunday also had a prominent cast: the directing couple Cornelius Obonya and Carolin Pienkos staged the Mozart opera “Bastien und Bastienne” in the Haydnsaal with Angelo Pollak and Amélie Hois in the title roles. The audience was enthusiastic, the artistic director Rachlin was delighted with the Esterhazy team with director Stefan Ottrubay, the directors Matthias Grün and Karl Wessely as well as Andreas Richter and Vitus Weh, who also presented the accompanying art installations by Manfred Bockelmann and Alfredo Barsuglia.

At the start on Thursday, Julian Rachlin will be on stage himself: in the sold-out Haydnsaal he will not only conduct the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, but also pick up his violin. The evening with tenor Juan Diego Flórez is also sold out, and at the weekend there will be the opportunity to see the Janoska Ensemble with the Biréli Lagrène Quartet, Sir András Schiff with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and the Ukrainian Youth Symphony Orchestra conducted by Oksana Lyniv experience.
