Shooting stars are a breathtaking sight. And in August, in Quebec, we are lucky enough to be able to admire a shower of stardust during the famous Perseid season.

In order to make the most of it, Mont-Ham and Life’s Better Outside (LBO) are organizing a one-of-a-kind evening event on Thursday, August 10: Experience sous les perséides.
This night of astronomical observation will take place at the Mont-Ham Regional Park, in the Eastern Townships. With its 713 meters of altitude and its 360 degree panoramic view, it is the perfect mountain to revel in the Perseids.
First, we welcome you from 3:30 p.m. for a hike via the La Panoramique trail (regarding 2.7 km, with 345 meters of elevation). Once at the top, you can set up camp for the night.
A two-part long hiking initiation workshop is also offered to participants.
First, a virtual preparatory meeting will address various topics such as essentials, weight of equipment, fear, planning, with a Q&A section to answer your questions.
Then, the second part will take place on the day of the event with the check before departure, the guided hike and the choice of the campsite.
Finally, the evening activities will continue with a cooking workshop on the fire and aperitif and, finally, the observation of the Perseids at 10 p.m. before bedtime. The next morning, following a meditation and “breathwork” workshop with Les Âmes Fleuries, you will head back home!
LBO organizes festivals and experiences to “create connections between players in the outdoor community”.
