Ferrari will soon lift the veil on its first SUV. But we would already have the Purosangue in front of us, that’s its name, without any camouflage. Even if it is always necessary to be careful (we still doubt to have montages here), these shots, diffused by CarSpiesseem to have been taken in the factory of Maranello.
As we had already understood with the prototypes, if Ferrari will dare to venture into a more commoner segment, it will be with a sportier vehicle than the competition. The Purosangue will thus be more of a hunting break than an SUV. Its silhouette will thus be more slender than that of a Lamborghini Urus, with a reduced height.
The Purosangue will keep aesthetic attributes specific to the brand’s sports cars, such as the grille ready to scrape the bitumen, the very long bonnet and the rear passenger compartment. The front face, and more particularly the optics, is thus inspired by the “grand touring” coupé. Roma. But the Purosangue does not deny typical SUV elements, such as rocker panels and black wheel arches. Moreover, if the rear incorporates four large exhaust outlets, these are housed in a well-protected shield.
In addition to the fact that Ferrari is attacking the SUV market, the prancing horse will mainly attack a more family clientele, the Purosangue being equipped with five doors. Even if the habitability and trunk volume are limited, the model will be much more versatile than the rest of the range!
It is thus part of a “controlled growth” strategy, Ferrari always wishing to sell a little more, but without losing its exclusivity. In any case, the vehicle will be displayed at a price that is always Ferrari, far from ordinary motorists.
