Ferrari team leader Fred Vasseur said his team remains realistic about the team’s chances of winning the constructors’ championship for the 2024 Formula 1 season.
“We are not thinking about the title and I want to maintain the team’s spirit. Because, in my opinion, it is important to focus on our performance,
session after session, and not thinking about the championship title,” said Vasseur, quoted from the official Formula 1 website, Wednesday (23/10).
Furthermore, Vasseur himself did not deny that his team had achieved quite significant improvements, especially with podium results
1-2 achieved by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz at the United States GP last weekend.
This achievement brings Ferrari’s total points in the constructors’ standings to 496, meaning they are now only 8 points behind Red Bull in second place and 48 points from McLaren at the top.

“With a little distance, we never talk about things like this because we know the road (to winning the title) is still long,” explained Vasseur.
Ferrari will compete again at the Mexican GP, which will take place this weekend.
Regarding the team’s opportunity to achieve the same dominance as in the United States, Vasseur said that his party is ready to anticipate the challenges that await them at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez later.
“We will start from scratch and we can have a completely different result in Mexico in one week’s time,” said Vasseur.
“What I want is for people to take more risks and (have) the strength to do so. We have to improve our performance and we have made several efforts to maintain this mindset,” concluded the man from France. (Ant/Z-1)
